POSITION OVERVIEW

The Production Operator is responsible for handling and monitoring manufacturing and packaging equipment, ensuring that everything is running smoothly and according to schedule. Aside from assisting with the processing and packaging of goods, this role must also conduct necessary inspections to the machine or equipment that they are using to make sure that it is in good condition and is safe to use, notifying supervisors as issues arise.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities of the Production Operator include:

  • Following instructions to operate various automated equipment

  • Facilitating the packaging, boxing, sorting, labelling and palettizing of items

  • Performing material feed changes

  • Inspecting goods as per quality control requests

  • Inputting of production medium into machines

  • Attending weekly team meetings

  • Supporting other workstations, if/when needs arise

  • Using various production software, training included

  • Being acutely aware of safety program

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma

  • Ability to use tablets and learn basic programs

  • Responsible and on time

  • Team player with a positive attitude

  • Ability to communicate needs or suggestions with team members

  • Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment

  • Comfortable operating large equipment
